Strong pound creates rush for the USA

British travellers to America are lining their wallets and counting out the dollars as the pound reached a 14 year high against the dollar recently. At the time of writing this article you could get $1.90 for your £1.

Alan Waddell, chief operating officer, Visit USA, said: “Combined with favourable air fares, the current exchange rate means now is a great time for travel to the USA.

“The increase in interest and bookings reported by some VUSA members is very promising, and demonstrates the enduring popularity of the USA as a leisure destination and its position as the number one long-haul holiday choice for UK travellers.”
