Customer comments
- Great Manhattan location: close to subway, full service supermarket
across the street. Clean 3 star quality rooms. Kitchenette is
tiny but super convenient
- Stayed in this hotel last week - can't say enough about it.
The rooms were large & clean, staff friendly & efficient,
street was noisy - but this is New York so this is to be expected.
We had intended to stay in the Broadway Plaza but cancelled
our reservation - a lucky escape on our part! If you are going
to NY, stay in the Beacon you will be pleased.
- What a nice little hotel! Immaculate, friendly, safe, and
in a great neighbourhood. I loved the Beacon and I will make
it my "home base" whenever I am in NYC in the future.
- I spent 6 great nights at the Beacon Hotel with my daughter.
Had a room on the 21st floor, which was really comfortable and
clean, and we had no noise from the street. The reception staff
were extremely helpful and very friendly. The hotel is in an
excellent position and right next to the subway from where you
can get anywhere you want. I thoroughly recommend and this hotel
and cannot wait to go back.
- I stayed at the Hotel Beacon with my wife for a getaway weekend.
The price was great for New York, especially for the size of
room, which was fairly big. The neighbourhood is great. Food
stores are close by (Citarella's is across the street) and you
can keep it cold in the fridge or heat it in the microwave.
Both appliances are provided.
C.N.A. Opinion
Whilst still a slight compromise one what we might call the
‘perfect location’, the Upper West Side area is a
great place to stay and being at 75th St. means you are quite
a bit closer to things you will want to visit than our entry level
hotel the Newton. Just like the Newton, you have the subway very
close by allowing you to transit right across all areas of Manhattan
very cheaply.
The room décor is OK, nothing too opulent but the real
unusual bonus with this hotel is the kitchenette in every room.
In summary this is a good ‘middle of the road’ choice
in a nice neighbourhood with good access to all attractions.
