Discover The Island Of Maui
Maui is dominated by Mauna Haleakala, a vast dormant volcano.
We guarantee that as you sit admiring the strange beauty
of the land you'll agree with Mark Twain when he wrote in
the 1800's 'I went to Maui to stay a week and remained for
five. I never spent so pleasant a month before or bade any
place goodbye so regretfully. I have not once thought of
business or care or human toil or trouble or sorrow or weariness
and the memory of it will remain with me forever'.
If you are an early-riser be sure to catch the most glorious
sunrise you will ever see. The sunrise atop Haleakala Crater
is justifiably famed as one of the most spectacular in the
world and on the way down enjoy breakfast Upcountry. Whilst
in Maui visit the old cowboy town of Makawao, the world-renowned
Ho'okipa Beach, shop in Wailuku or Kahului and visit 'Lao
Valley with it's famed 'Lao Needle.
No visit to Maui is complete without a real Hawaiian lu'au,
not just for the marvellous lu'au food - the kalua pig and
kiawe steaks, the grilled mahimahi and the lomi salmon -
but also for the authentic entertainment experience, with
music and dance reflecting the history of Maui.
If you can tear yourself away from the beaches why not
take an ocean cruise, snorkel, scuba dive or parasail. Hop
aboard a helicopter and hover over hidden canyons, waterfalls
and remote valleys. If you visit falls between December
and May, you shouldn't miss the opportunity to go on a breathtaking
whale-watching adventure.
Included in your package price is the Hana Adventure Tour.
The Hana Highway is 52 serpentine miles from Kahului and
winds around 600 curves, over 54 one-lane bridges, and through
scenery straight out of a Technicolor travelogue, with waterfalls
splashing beside the road, seducing swimmers to its fern-lipped
plunge pools. Fruit trees dangle their offerings: mango,
guava and banana. Banks of wild ginger perfume the air,
and dramatic vistas unfold around every bend. Stops and
sights along the way include Paia Town, Kaumahina State
Park, Keanae Valley Lookout, Puaa Kaa and Waianapanapa State
Parks, Hana Town & Hasegawa General Store, Wailua Falls
Lookout, Ohe’o Stream & Pools for swimming if
weather and time permits (Seven Sacred Pools) and the famous
windsurfing beaches.
By the time you have sampled all this and topped up your
tan, your five nights will have come to an end. We have
included transportation to take you back to the airport
to begin your journey home to the U.K.
