Quick fire questions ....
How did you get into the travel industry?
I was well travelled as a child and incredibly lucky to visit some of the most amazing places in the world (Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, the majority of Europe, Iceland, Florida, New York...just to name a few!) on family holidays but sadly I missed out on the usual 'pre/post uni' travel bug. Having previously worked in a sales role within the recruitment industry, I realised that I wanted to twin what I was good at - sales, with something that I find incredibly fascinating and that I know I would never get bored of travel!
When did you join CNA?
May 2009
What's the best trip you have ever been on?
California Pacific Coast in the USA and Thailand outside USA
Where would you most like to go next and why?
The Deep South, I have a keen fascination and curiosity to experience the culture of the people and their infamous hospitality, food and music!
What are your 3 most important items when travelling to North America?
Excluding your passport, a credit card and driving licence....Travel Adaptor, Sunglasses and Travel Sickness bands (to combat car sickness)
What are your 3 favourite hotels that you have stayed at in North America?
1) Inn at Perry Cabin at St. Michaels 2) The Encore in Las Vegas. 3) The Venetian in Las Vegas.
What are your top 3 tips for travellers to North America?
1) NEVER use the hotel telephone in your room, buy a phone card/mobile whilst there. 2) Take a 'Cash Passport' (prepaid travel money card) rather than a credit card to help with budgeting. 3) Pack your clothing for all types of weather as it's never guaranteed!
What interests do you have away from work?
Sports; running, badminton and the gym. Watching all genres of film and reading detective/thrillers. Travelling outside of the US to experience as many different cultures as possible - recent visits in 2010 include Amsterdam in the Netherlands, The Algarve in Portugal and touring the island of Iceland!
