Weather

Due to the size of the state Montana has a considerably varied climate and snowfall can happen all year round due to the elevation. Temperatures average at about 2C across the state in winter, and in summer at just below 30C.

Best time to visit

During the Summer months, June – September, the weather should be favourable in all areas. During the Autumn / Winter months, October-May weather is less predictable and snowfall and road closures are common in many areas with driving access to Glacier National Park prohibited.
