Quick facts:

Time Zone: GMT – 7
Flight time from UK: 11 hours

Arizona has two nicknames: ‘The Grand Canyon State’ which celebrates Arizona’s most famous landmark, and ‘The Copper State’ which celebrates Arizona’s mineral wealth.

Weather

Arizona has a wide variety of climate coniditions due to it being such a large state and because of its variation in elevation. Arizona experiences a desert climate at the lower elevations averaging 16C minimum from November to February and highs in the summer of 30-40C. Winter is still typically mild with temperatures varying from 4 to 24C with occasional frost.

Best time to visit

Because of Arizona’s almost constant mild weather any time from February to November is best to visit. Summers can be very warm so if you’re not into the extreme heat then it may be best to avoid July and August (plus you’d save money on flights!)
