ROCKIES, CANYONLANDS & NEW MEXICO
This is a route we first drove several years ago and it’s fair to say the variety of scenery in one itinerary probably stands this route apart from any other we offer with its wonderful scenery, amazing wildlife, contrasting cultures and good clean mountain air.
Denver | Estes Park | Glenwood Springs | Moab | Mesa Verde | Chinle | Albuquerque | Santa Fe | Colorado Springs
ARIZONA & NEW MEXICO
We know you won’t come to Arizona and miss the Grand Canyon but we thought we’d take you on a whistle-stop tour of New Mexico and southern Arizona as well. Covering a minimum of 7 nights, we know you will want to stay longer in several of these locations.
Phoenix | Tuscon | Benson | Las Cruces | Albuquerque | Flagstaff | Grand Canyon | Dead Horse State Park
The classic way to experience Route 66, here you will follow the route that, since 1926, young men took from the Midwest to discover the glitz and glamour of LA on a road that still passes through small towns offering a wonderful taste of a simpler time.
Chicago | St. Louis | Springfield | Oklahoma City | Amarillo | Tucumcari | Albuquerque | Holbrook | Grand Canyon | Las Vegas | Los Angeles
TEXAS – LONE STAR STATE
Our first solo Texas itinerary and what at an itinerary it is, taking in the best of this enormous and unique state (and two nights in New Mexico) by visiting some fantastic, world class cities, a beautiful coast town and everything in between.
Dallas | Austin | Houston | Corpus Christi | San Antonio | Fort Stockton / Pecos | El Paso | Albuquerque | Amarillo | Dallas
Time Zone: GMT – 7
Flight time from UK: 9 hours (to Phoenix – no direct flight exists from the UK to New Mexico)
The state nickname for New Mexico is the ‘Land of Enchantment’ because of the state’s natural beauty and history.
New Mexico has quite a complex climate due to its deserts, mountains, foothills and high plains. Typically, it is colder the higher in elevation you go. Winters will usually hover around 0C and snow is expected. Summer months will average in the mid to late 30C’s.
Best time to visit
During the Summer months, June – September, the weather will be particularly warm, especially in July and August. During the Winter months, November – April weather is less predictable.
