Quick facts:

Time Zone: GMT – 8
Flight time from UK: 10 hours

Oregon’s nickname is the ‘Beaver State’ because of the fashion of wearing fur hats in the 19th century.

Weather

During the summer months you can expect weather to be quite pleasant but with the potential to change fast as several of the regions you visit will be mountainous and at higher elevations. The winter and spring months in the Pacific Northwest are particularly beautiful. Cold crisp days with a glistening white blanket of snow are common place.

Best time to visit

To take full advantage of Oregon it would be best to travel from May – September as some seasonal lodges and roads might be closed in the winter, the back end of Autumn and beginning of Spring. Even in summer we suggest you try to adopt a layered clothing approach so that you can adjust your outerwear according to the current conditions.
