Summer temperatures average in the 20’s C, and in the winter at -10C. The first snow fall is expected in October with the winter as temperatures start to fall and lasts through to about mid-March when the weather starts to warm up again.

Best time to visit

Canadian mountain weather can be changeable year round however the optimum time to travel to the region where adverse weather conditions are least likely to affect your enjoyment of the region is May 01st – September 15th.

There is so much wildlife to see in Alberta and British Columbia. From wolves to black and grizzly bears, elk, deer, marmots, cougars, lynx, moose, mountain goats, coyote and over 250 bird species including grey owls, osprey, Canadian geese, waterfowl and songbirds.
