Atlantic Canada is made up of New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island and come under the umbrella term because of the four provinces’ cultural similarities.

Weather

Summer temperatures average about 25C, and in the winter at -2C. Temperatures vary on the coasts, where it is colder in summer and winter. The coasts are also often shrouded in a thick fog, especially along the Bay of Fundy and on the island of Newfoundland.

Best time to visit

Winter is great for skiing and snow related activities but temperatures are low. In winter and spring the streets will still be slushy and cool but in the summer from May to late August it can get very hot and it’s the best time to experience Atlantic Canada in all its glory.

Food

Atlantic Canada is famous for its fresh and abundant seafood, from succulent lobster, to scallops, mussels, oysters and cod. You can dine at a seaside restaurants, take a stroll through local farmers market or also take in one of the many culinary festivals.

Atlantic Canada is a very coastal area and offers so many diverse and beautiful landscapes which are great for driving or exploring by boat such as the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick, Gros Morne in Newfoundland & Labrador, the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia and North Cape on Prince Edward.
