DAY 1 SAN FRANCISCO

Welcome to San Francisco! This evening visit San Francisco’s most beloved attraction, Fisherman’s Wharf. This gorgeous waterfront community is rich in both culture and fun. Be sure to treat yourself to some delicious local cuisine, like sourdough bread, clam chowder and fresh seafood!

DAY 2 SAN FRANCISCO

Take an exhilarating hop-on, hop-off tour of San Francisco! This excursion gives you the opportunity to see the most popular landmarks of this amazing city. You can hop off the bus at any of the stops to explore any site at your own pace. Visit popular districts like Chinatown, North Beach, Union Square, the Civic Center, and more! Dinner is included this evening.

DAY 3 SAN FRANCISCO

Today board a sightseeing tour that will bring you out to the beautifully scenic Yosemite National Park! Your fully guided tour will take you out of the city to travel along the Merced River and into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range to the famous Yosemite Park. Enjoy sights of the tall redwoods, hike along the mountain trails, and snap pictures of the rushing waterfalls. You will truly enjoy a full day of sightseeing.

DAY 4 SAN FRANCISCO

Enjoy a ride across the Golden Gate Bridge and through the tranquil hills surrounding Sonoma Valley as you take in the beauty of the countless family wineries along the old El Camino Real. Then, you’ll venture into the heart of Napa Valley, where your next stops feature up to three vineyards for wine tours and tastings.

DAY 5 SAN FRANCISCO TO LOS ANGELES

Travel on your own to the Amtrak® station and board the Coast Starlight® to Los Angeles. The Coast Starlight ventures along the gorgeous California coastline and offers scenic views you will never forget. The lush forests, fertile valleys, and long stretches of Pacific Ocean shoreline provide a stunning backdrop for your journey. Upon your arrival in the “City of Angels,” you’ll check into your hotel, and once you’re all settled in, feel free to start exploring this fascinating city that so many movie stars call home.

DAY 6 LOS ANGELES

Los Angeles is known as the entertainment capital of the world, so there is much to see and do here. Enjoy a narrated hop-on, hop-off tour of L.A., which allows you to get off as often as you like! DAY 7 LOS ANGELES TO SAN DIEGO

Travel to the Amtrak station and board the train to San Diego. Relax on the Pacific Surfliner® as you continue your journey south along the Pacific Ocean coastline. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and begin to experience “America’s Finest City” on your hop-on, hop-off sightseeing tour.

Do I need a visa to travel to the usa?

In most circumstances, no visa is required for travel to the USA for any British Citizen passport holder and many other European passport holders, whose countries qualify for the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). This program permits entry for up to 90 days for business or leisure purposes. Everyone must apply to use the VWP via the online Electronic System of Travel Authorization (ESTA). Advice states this should be done online at least 72 hours prior to departure. On payment of the $14 fee this system usually issues an electronic confirmation within minutes but this is not guaranteed and there are certain criteria travellers must consider before applying via ESTA to use the Visa Waiver Program. Once granted the VWP authorization is valid for 2 years.

Please note : From 21st January 2016 The United States implemented changes to the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) as part of the Terrorist Travel Protection Act of 2015. One of the major changes implemented in January excludes any British National who has travelled to Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, or Yemen since March 01st 2011 from using the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). Full details are contained on the above link but those affected will need to apply for a Visitor Visa with the U.S. Embassy before booking their travel arrangements.

Do I need a visa to travel to Canada?

British Nationals and travellers from other European countries can enjoy visa-exempt travel to and via Canada but must first use the online Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) at a cost of CA$7.00 per person. Most online applications are approved with minutes by email but the process can take longer particularly if supporting documentation is requested. An eTA is valid for 5 years and allows you to travel for up to 6 months on any one visit.

You are advised to apply for your eTA prior to confirming any travel arrangements.
